Condor has officially resumed its direct flights from Frankfurt to Bangkok and Phuket, marking a significant step in the recovery of long-haul tourism between Germany and Thailand. After suspending operations during the COVID-19 pandemic, the airline relaunched its services in September 2024 with a renewed commitment to meeting the rising demand for travel between Europe and Thailand’s top destinations.

The first direct flight on the Frankfurt-Bangkok route, flight DE2362, departed from Frankfurt, Germany, on 22 September 2024, at 7pm, arriving at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok on 23 September at 11:25am. Simultaneously, the Frankfurt-Phuket route, serviced by flight DE2368, took off from Frankfurt on 21 September and arrived at Phuket International Airport the following morning, on 22 September 2024.

Condor is now the only German airline offering direct flights to Thailand, underscoring its strategic importance in revitalising Thailand’s tourism industry. The Frankfurt-Bangkok route will operate four times a week, while the Frankfurt-Phuket route will offer two weekly flights, both serviced by the modern Airbus A330neo. This aircraft features a seating capacity of 310 passengers across three classes—30 seats in business class, 64 in premium economy, and 216 in economy class—ensuring comfort for all travellers.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) welcomed the return of these direct flights as a crucial boost for the country’s tourism sector.

Thapanee Kiatpaibool, Governor of TAT, emphasised that Condor’s reintroduction of its services reflects strong demand from European travellers and is a key indicator of Thailand’s appeal as a long-haul destination. She further noted that the resumption of these flights would aid in both market recovery and expansion, offering a convenient travel option for German visitors.
