Embark on a gastronomic odyssey through Burgundy’s heart as Rosewood Bangkok presents an enchanting five-course dinner, skillfully paired with exceptional wines embodying the essence of Clos Marey-Monge in east-central France.

The exclusive Château de Pommard Wine Dinner, priced at THB 5,200++ per person, will grace Lakorn European Brasserie on November 21, 2023.

For almost three centuries, Château de Pommard in Clos Marey-Monge, Burgundy, has been a canvas for the artistry of winemaking families—from the pioneering Micaults to the present custodians, Famille Carabello-Baum. The Château stands as a testament to their enduring dedication and passion.”

The evening commences with a delicate Bourgogne Chardonnay 2020, expertly paired with an aromatic Pot Au Feu, a Marseille fish soup enriched with saffron and a hint of aioli. The refinement continues with the Maranges 1er Cru ‘Le Clos des Loyeres’ 2020, its subtle smoky notes complementing Duck Confit & Foie Gras Terrine, followed by a succulent Venison Loin accompanied by the fruity aromas of Clos Marey-Monge Micault 2020.

Si Thep: A Journey to Thailand’s Lost Treasure

Si Thep, an ancient town nestled within the Lop Buri-Pasak River Basin in Phetchabun Province, 450 kilometres north of Bangkok, has recently risen to prominence as a UNESCO-designated World Cultural Heritage site. Known as the “Lost Hindu Town” in the annals of the Siamese Royal Court, its revival in 1904 can be credited to the visionary historian Prince Damrong Rajanubhab, who was led to this legendary city by locals in Phetchabun.

After a refreshing Raspberry Yuzu Sorbet infused with Pink Pepper, the meal progresses to a sophisticated main course. Guests are treated to two iconic wines: the Clos Marey-Monge ’75 Range’ 2017 and Clos Marey-Monge Monopole 2015, accentuating the flavors of a Duo of Lamb dish. The wine dinner concludes on a sweet note with a luxurious Cassis Chocolate dessert, combining 80% chocolate cremeux, ginger blueberry compote, chocolate crunch, and a refreshing cassis sorbet.

A UNESCO-protected Climat of Burgundy since 2015, Clos Marey-Monge has been the home of the world’s finest Pinot Noir expressions for over two millennia. The interplay of its seven clay and limestone-rich terroir positions it as the Côte d’Or’s most intriguing monopole. The essence of Burgundy is encapsulated in three acclaimed wines–Vivant Micault, Clos Marey-Monge Monopole, and Simone. Additionally, the Château produces Grand Cru, Premier Cru, Village, and Bourgogne wines from appellations across the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune.

Guiding the evening is Remi Marchand, Asia Area Director of Winery of Château de Pommard, who will share his profound knowledge of the storied vineyard, its history, and the lifestyle it represents.

The five-course Château de Pommard Wine Dinner is presented from 6pm onwards on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Lakorn European Brasserie, Rosewood Bangkok, for THB 5,200++ per person, inclusive of five glasses of paired wines.
