Bangkok’s already crowded coffee scene has a new arrival. Blue Bottle Coffee, the California-born specialty coffee brand known for its minimalist cafés and meticulous brewing, has opened its first two locations in Thailand, bringing different takes on its coffee ritual to Dusit Central Park and EmQuartier.
The Bangkok debut marks Blue Bottle’s latest expansion in Asia, following openings in Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong and Singapore. Founded in Oakland in 2002, the brand has built an international following around carefully sourced beans, precise brewing and pared-back café design.
Its first Thailand café opened on August 21 at Dusit Central Park, where the focus is on an accessible, everyday coffee experience. Located on the first floor, the café serves Blue Bottle signatures including single-origin coffees and espresso-based drinks alongside cooler options suited to Bangkok’s tropical weather.

Among them are the Vanilla Bean Shakerato and Espresso Tonic, as well as the newly launched Kyoto-Style Espresso. Inspired by Kyoto’s water-drip coffee tradition, the latter has been developed to produce a smoother espresso particularly suited to iced drinks.
Three days later, Blue Bottle followed with its Bangkok flagship at EmQuartier. The ground-floor café places greater emphasis on the ritual of coffee making, with hand-brewed pour-overs and seasonal coffees joining the regular menu. It also introduces the NOLA Float, which tops the brand’s chicory-infused New Orleans-style iced coffee with a scoop of milk ice cream.

The two openings arrive in a city where independent roasters, specialty cafés and home-grown coffee culture have flourished in recent years. Blue Bottle says it hopes to become part of that landscape rather than simply transplant its international formula.
“Thailand has one of the most passionate and discerning coffee communities in Asia, and we are honoured to become part of it,” said Isaac Yang, Blue Bottle Coffee’s chief strategy officer.
Bangkok also gets a few flavours of its own. Working with local bakery Grazia, Blue Bottle has created several Thailand-specific pastries, including a Calamansi Cream Bun filled with vanilla cream and citrusy calamansi jam, and a Coconut Mango Madeleine combining mango, white chocolate and coconut.

There is also a Slow Bake Egg Tart, with flaky pastry surrounding Madagascan vanilla custard finished with a lightly caramelised top.
For collectors, a Bangkok edition of Blue Bottle’s signature tote has also been released to mark the launch.
Blue Bottle Coffee at Dusit Central Park is open daily from 10am to 10pm, while the EmQuartier flagship opens from 8am to 10pm daily. Together, the two cafés offer Bangkok coffee drinkers slightly different introductions to the brand: one geared towards an easy coffee stop, the other towards slowing down over the brewing ritual.
